Description of my issue:
this is a feature request --
it would be really great to be able to run db-only backups and be able to zip or tar.gz the sql file. when i'm doing a lot of database work, i'm generally running mysqldump from the command line or phpmyadmin very frequently. i can do from akeeba, but don't like that it doesn't zip the file. i think it should be able to generate a standard dump file that could be imported via ssh/pma if desired.

i was using the main site db only option. would be nice if the archive option affected that selection. i don't necessarily want other databases archived every time.

it seems to me like the form/option logic should be consistent throughout.

- select backup content (files, current db, all dbs, files + db, files incremental)
- select compression option (zip, jpa, tar.gz)

its non-intuitive that the compression options only apply to certain backup content options, and that some content options actually include compression.
