Hi, is it possible to manually extract the mysql database with the
akeeba extract wizard out of the .jpa file?

The akeeba extract wizard is able to be used for exactly that. You can extract any files or the sql files out of it. I believe the SQL itself is stored in the installation directory once you extract it locally. You should be able to search the directories for a dot-sql file (.sql) within the extracted folders to find the exact location.

Download the extract wizard from the downloads area of the website.

Thanks for your quick reply. I found the installation folder but there are a couple of database files. when i try to open the joomla.sql it is just a part of the complete database. how would i get them all together to a full one.

these are the files i have there:
joomla.sql, joomla.s09, joomla.s08, joomla.s07, joomla.s06, joomla.s05, joomla.s04, joomla.s03, joomla.s02, joomla.s01, databases.ini

Thanks

All of those files (except the databases.ini) contain parts of the database dump. I had written a step-by-step tutorial for manually restoring a site. If you follow steps 2, 3 and 4 of that tutorial you can achieve exactly what you want.

It goes without saying, if you get stuck anywhere, ping me and I'll try to help you as best as I can!
