Joomla! version: 1.5.23

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue:

After upgrading to pro I was trying to setup to upload to dropbox and the backups keep failing. In looking at the backup files and logs it appears the backup completes and the files are transfered and then it just shows that "the process was aborted on user's request". I've tried splitting the archives down to 10mb files, 15mb files, 20mb and this has no effect on issue. I've run the configuration wizard, no change. This site is on a dedicated server and not a shared server if that matters. Any thoughts, suggestion on where I should look further to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance!

Please try setting the max_execution_time in your server's php.ini to 60 seconds. Then, restart Apache. That should do the trick.

My current php setting for max_execution_time is 500 seconds. I've also increased my Apache timeout setting from 10 to 60 seconds. This had no effect.

Interestingly this only seems to happen when backing up in front end with Chrome browser. Frontend with IE and backend seem to work fine. I'll call this a non-issue at this point. Has to be something buggy with Chrome. Thanks for your time.

Hm... Interesting. Chrome seems to be very picky with the time it will wait for a page to load. In any case, since you have a dedicated server, I would recommend taking the backup using the command-line backup.php file. While it's primarily meant for CRON, I use it through an interactive SSH terminal to get backups of remote dedicated servers as well (and that's how it actually started its life).
