I can get Akeeba Remote to backup properly, but when I have it set to download the backup to an area of my hard drive it will only download part of the file. Is there some setting that I need to set that would help it to download all of the backup file? For instance, my backup tonight was 549.71 mb and it would only download 23 mb of the backup and just quit.

Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Thank you,
Marie Alline

That's a compatibility issue with your host. Akeeba Remote Control asks the server to chunk the backup files into 1Mb pieces and downloads one piece at a time. Some servers see these requests and believe they are under attack by a denial of service script. In that case, they will simply kill the download process and not allow you to continue with it. At this point there is no workaround, but I am working on a potential solution.

Thank you for your quick response. :) I hope you can come up with a workaround. Is there anything I can set in my php.ini that will help?

I just released Akeeba Remote Control 4.0.7 with the potential workaround applied. Please download and install it from this page. Let me know if this fixes the problem you are experiencing or not. Thanks!

It stopped at 23 mb again. So sorry!

It seems that your host blocks requests from your IP for much longer than the expected 9 seconds "cool off" period given by Remote Control :(

What can I do about that? Can that be changed in whm or in the php.ini?

It is not something you can touch in php.ini (it's not a PHP configuration setting) and you can't modify it in WHM either. It's a system-wide setting which has to do with Apache's mod_security configuration. Only your host can modify that, but the chance of this ever happening is really slim; modifying those settings is a system-wide setting and I assume that would be incompatible with the configuration standard of that host's servers.
