hi nicholas,

just realise that if i do a fresh install of akeeba backup and place a backup file is the usual directory it wont get recognised and hence cant restore from it. they way i came across the issue is that i was having a small problem with akeeba and ran a backup, uninstalled and reinstalled and then reaslise that it wont recognise the previous backup file which is actually there. Is this a know thing? and is any possible work around with it? Thanks

Akeeba Backup Professional 3.2.b1 and later have a new button called "Discover and Import Archives" in the toolbar of the Administer Backup Files page. You can use that feature to import the old archives that no longer appear after restoring an older backup :)
