Hi Nicholas,

In Akeeba Backup Professional 3.2.b3 (2011-01-06), I am using the example regular expressions from the online documentation to exclude .svn directories. Once entered as Skip Files on the Akeeba Backup: RegEx Files and Directories Exclusion screen, the icons next to them on the Files and Directories Exclusion screen are red. But, once extracted, I have the .svn folders in the extracted set of files.

Any thoughts? Did I set things up correctly to exclude them?

Best,

Matt

Hi Matt,

I think that the Regex in the documentation is wrong. Here's the settings that worked for me:
Type: Exclude directory
Filter item: #\.svn$#

Hi!

Is it possible to use this type of exclusion with the free version akeeba?
I'm testing these regular expressions in my project and do not work.
Thanks.

Hi,

I'm fairly certain that this only works in the Pro version. I believe it is part of the Power Filters listed at http://www.akeebabackup.com/software/akeeba-backup.html It's definitely worth going Pro if you are unsure.

Best,

Matt

Regular Expression Filters are only possible with the Professional edition. They are not defined in the tabular view of the file filters, they have a dedicated interface. In fact, it's a completely different class of filters than the "normal" files and directory filters :)
