Backup Failed
The backup operation has been halted because an error was detected.
The last error message was:

Invalid AJAX data:

I've attached the log. I'm trying to do a backup to amazon, although it doesn't seem that it was even able to finish the actual backup part.

never mind, at least for now. there were several other joomla sites under the main directory, and it was trying to backup the whole deal. i excluded them and was able to complete a backup.

Yup, that's the correct workaround. The idea is that if you don't have enough disk space to hold the backup, the process will fail. Excluding the other sites allows the backup to complete. You can install and set up Akeeba Backup on each site and create CRON jobs for each one of them (firing 10-20 minutes after each other) to automate the process without running out of disk space.
