Hello Nicholas,

I have finally figured out how to download backup files from Amazon S3 although it is difficult to conserve the original file name.

Here I have a backup file with a non standard name in the web root of a working joomla installation. What are the steps to restore to the previous version using Akeeba Pro?

I once tried with kickstart but SH404SEF kept kicking me out of the install directory.

Actually it's not sh404SEF kicking you out, it's your .htaccess file. You can simply rename .htaccess to .htaccess.old and run Kickstart. That's the easiest and recommended way to perform a restoration.
