Hi, it is possible to run the backup via cron job using a URL?

Perhaps it would be feasible if man at the URL:

www.DOMAIN.de/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=light

nor the secret key links so that it is loaded from the Joomla database, insert, and then the Scipt on "OK"button. Then, the backup would be performed.

My provider has the problem that I can only run cronjobs via URL.

Function:
It calls via cron on the address. in the background gets the script then the secret key from the database, inserts it, and dtartet the script.

The script should be protected by an htaccess file, so that it can be called only by the Cronhost, and not from a vendor such as Cronjob.de.

Is this as possible?

On your answers, I'm very excited.
Thank you
Christian

We also have available some other options, we have a lazy backup plugin and Akeeba Remote control. All backup options are outlined here in our quickstart guide:http://downloads.joomlacode.org/frsrelease/5/8/2/58221/AkeebaBackupQuickStart.pdf

The answer is yes and no. Yes, there is a front-end backup URL feature in Akeeba Backup but no, it won't work with your server. Since the backup can not be completed within a single page load it has to issue HTTP redirects. Guess what? Hosts using URL fetching instead of normal CRON jobs do not support HTTP redirects and the backup always hangs. Using the Lazy Scheduling plugin or Akeeba Remote Control seems to be the only option to automate the backup process on your server.

No. It only supports a single profile.
