Hi , i tried two times to do an install with a back up from the Akeeba Backup Professional 3.1.2
I can login but the admin has no icons only the one from Akeeba and the menu is not working.
On the place where the joomla icons supposed to be i see only two times the text of the icon above eachother. Further nothing is working. You can access global configuration but nothing is working.

What to do?

Sounds like a permissions issue. Try chmod'ing everything to 0755, then use Admin Tools to automatically change file permissions to 0644 and directory permissions to 0755 (recommended settings) by using the Fix Permissions button.

HI Nicholas, thnx for the answer. It seems like there is something wrong on the server because i installed the back up on another server and there is no problem there. Very strange and never seen this before? I have post the host now.

Please let me know of your host's reply. It's not something I've seen on a site (unless when I screwed up a site's permissions on purpose to see what happens in that case :))

Hi Nicholas, i have made a back up with akabee pro 3.1 and all went fine on the server. Now i have done another with the latest version 3.1.4 and i see the same problem. No warning during installation and after login in administrator nothing works. See screenshot.

Can you send me a PM with the URL to the site, Super Admin login information and FTP connection details? It does look like either a permissions issue or a .htaccess issue. I can only tell if I can get my hands on it.

Actually, when I ask you to send me a PM I mean "go to the top of the page, click on the Personal Messages link, click on Compose and type in "nicholas" in the field". Sometimes email sent through my personal site's contact form ends up in the Junk Mail folder and it might take me a few days to get back to you. I just received your email, I am going to look at it tomorrow.

The $live_site parameter in your configuration.php file and the (temporary) domain name of your site did not match. As the Joomla! documentation dictates, either leave this empty or use your site's URL. If you use the domain [i]you would like to use in the future[/url] in that paramter your site will, of course, not work unless you move it to that domain. This is how Joomla! works :)
