Hello,

My objective is to "duplicate" the layout and design of an existing joomla. Let's call the original 'web1' and the duplicate 'web2'. I have created web2 from a backup of web1.

I would like to install web1 and web2 on the same server, but in different sub-domains. For example, I want to install web1 in sub-domain: needhelp.ca and web2 in sub-domain itsontheway.ca. Since I can't have two (2) databases with the same name on the same server, I believe that I will have to change the database name for the "web2" site.

Can you advise me on how to accomplish my objective please.

Thanks!

Percy

Exactly! Create a new database for web2. when restoring the backup to web2, in the Restore DB step, all you have to do is to supply the new database's connection information before hitting the Next button. That's all!

I'd also suggest reading our Quick Start Guide to familiarize yourself with the restoration process.
