Hello,

I have a slight problem with the configuration of the temp directory.
It seems that when I select the "tmp" folder in the Joomla root directory I get the following error in the modal box
Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /administrator/index.php could not be found on this server.

I checked the permissions of that folder and they are set at 755 which is the correct permission setting. I also tried to select the tmp folder using the "Output Directory" field and I get the same problem.

Also when a backup is complete and you get the page where you can either click to see the log file or administer backup files. The links redirect to the frontend not the backend. This only happens for a secondary profile that I created. The default profile is fine.
these are the url of the links:
http://www.example.com/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=buadmin
http://www.example.com/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=log

I upgraded to the latest Akeeba Pro 3.1.2, but it was happening also before I upgraded.

Hi rafaelravelo,
Have you tried changing the permissions to 777? 755 are actually the correct settings but on some servers you have to change the permission settings to 777 and then change them back to 755 when you are finished.

Yes, I have.. but still no change.
I have other sites on the same hosting that don't have this problem. Not sure what's going on here, hope someone can help.
Thanks

This is most likely a problem with .htaccess settings or even a security extension intercepting Akeeba Backup's page redirections. FYI, you can simply type [SITETMP] (including the brackets) in the field to have Akeeba Backup automatically use the configured site's temporary directory. The full list of the "variables" you can use in the directory boxes can be found in the documentation or by hovering your mouse over the label of the field at the left-hand side of the box.

I don't have .htaccess file. It is disabled "htacess.txt". I am planning on installting sh404SEF later though.
Also I don't have any security extensions installed. I have Virtuemart, JCE Editor, CSVI Virtuemart, Mailing list Manager and of course Akeeba backup installed. The rest is pretty minimal.

None of those extensions should cause a problem with Akeeba Backup. There is a small possibility of having a server with slightly older versions of the web server software and/or a non-standard configuration which causes this issue.
