If you have the Professional release, it is very easy! Just set the Data Processing Engine to "Upload to remote FTP server" and give your FTP server connection details. However, you need to watch out for a few pitfalls. As detailed in the Basic Configuration section of the documentation for cloud (and remote) storage it is possible that the process times out unless you specify a small-ish part size for split archives. After you do that and take a successful backup manually, all you have to do is to set up a CRON job to run the backup automatically. Since the post-processing (FTP upload in your case) is part of the backup profile definition, Akeeba Backup will be able to automatically upload the backup archives to the remote FTP server as soon as it has finished taking a backup of your site.
