I am able to install AkeebaBackup Pro 3.1.b1 and 3.0.1, but 3.1.b2 hangs up when I use the Joomla Extentions manager.

b1 is only 824,553 bytes but b2 is 2,09548 bytes.

Thanks!

Beta 2 is 1Mb, not 2Mb as you said. You can always try the manual installation method outlined in our documentation.

This is the info from this web site:
Akeeba Backup Professional
Downloaded: 101 times
File size: 2.00 Mb
MD5 Signature: f50315dcd3327775cc378ec205717f22
SHA1 Signature: 8c1e7044e338281deccdffaebdfa6f32570683ef

This is twice the size of the b1.

I have tried to install manually, but that has not worked either.

I'm sorry to bother you with this.

You can also the latest developer release. It is the same as the regular release, I have only fixed a Javascript issue which may be getting in the way of backing up your site. The package size is correct (1Mb) and should install fine.

Nicholas,
Thanks! That worked fine. The developer released installed normally and a backup ran normally.

Great! If the other guys who had a problem with beta 2 report positively I am going to publish beta 3 over the next couple of days :)

Hi having the same problem Akeeba Backup core 3.1.b2 installs whit no problem, but the 3.1.b2 Pro version endsup in a blank screen. After reading this treat i also tryed to install the latest release (com_akeeba-svn226-pro) as you adviced, it also will not install and endsup in a blank screen. I hope your 3.1b3Pro hase this problem fixed.

The blank page during installation means that your server is too slow and times out while installing Akeeba Backup - or any other big extension such as Community Builder, VirtueMart, Tienda, etc. It's not a problem with our software or the package file, it's a combined problem caused by your server and the way Joomla! works. There is, however, a workaround and it is also very well documented: the manual installation procedure. The premise of this method is that the most time consuming part of the Joomla! component package installation (extracting the package) is performed manually by you and Joomla! only has to copy files around.
