I've scoured the forums and found several topics on my issue but they all seem to be caused by different things.
And since I really don't know what to be looking for in the log I figured the most prudent thing to do was ask for help from the guys that do. HELP!!!!!!

My error seems to happen as it's trying to upload to Amazon.
This HAS worked in the past but suddenly decided to quit.
Thanks in advance for your help!

My first thought is that your file size is too big for the transfer to S3, you're getting a timeout which your server is reporting as a 500 error.

You generally need to use a split archive to move the backup to S3, a single part archive is too large for the time available. If you're using a split archive, reduce the part size a little bit and see if that solves the problem.

I am getting the same error.

I use Drop Box extensively for HD video Proofs. I can backup gigabyte files with no problems. And am now using it to back up one of my client's site, which is about 150 megs. I was originally backing up tot he default Akeeba location and was getting the same error.

I will need to see your backup log file so as to understand what is going on. However, before ZIP'ing and attaching the log file here, make sure that you are using archive splitting and, please, do read the documentation section regarding Basic Configuration of cloud backups. As you can see, you MUST use archive splitting. It's not a matter of being able to upload Gigabytes of data from your PC, it's about how PHP works. Please read the documentation. It's all in there.
