I've been using JoomlaPack for a while and purchased AkeebaBackup Pro this morning. Is there a documented procedure for upgrading from JoomlaPack to Akeeba Pro? Do I need to uninstall JPack etc. What about existing backups made with JoomlaPack?
Cheers

You can have both version run in parallel. Akeeba Backup has a completely different backup engine, database structure and folder structure than JoomlaPack. The "migration" process is like this:
1. Install Akeeba Backup Pro on your site
2. Transfer all your backup archives to your local PC and remove them from the server. BTW, it's a bad idea leaving backup archives on the server.
3. Uninstall JoomlaPack
4. Configure your profiles in Akeeba Backup

There is no direct migration of the profiles between JoomlaPack and Akeeba Backup as the backup engine is radically different, so most configuration options have no relevance in Akeeba Backup.

Regarding the old backup archives, should you need to restore them you can always use Akeeba Kickstart. After all, each backup archive is self-contained, i.e. it contains all the files, the database dump and the installation script. Kickstart is a mere archive extractor, so it works with backup archives produced with JoomlaPack, Akeeba Backup or pretty much any other ZIP and JPA file.
