What version of Akeeba do you have installed? Does the backup work from the back end?

If the CRON job is producing any Akeeba backup log, please zip and post it.

JFactory is a Joomla! core function that Akeeba is calling. It is very strange that it isn't there.

This is a partial installation. It tells you, it can't load one of the basic files of the component. That's why you get a Fatal Error. I am surprised you even got to the backup page (obviosuly, without trying to visit the Control Panel which is also DOA right now). You'll have to reinstall.

Tip: use the tmp directory inside your site's root as the Joomla! Temp-directory for Akeeba Backup - and any other large component - to install properly.

Hi,

Clean install of Release SVN134. TMP directory already set-up as recommended same problem. No install issue with any other component.

Would direct access to the server be of any help to you to diagnose?

It is still a partial installation. If possible, direct access should allow me to at least see why the installation doesn't complete successfully. You can send mea PM with the login credentials and a link back to this thread (so that I can keep track :) )

BTW, if you have an old version of Joomla! (1.5.14 or earlier) upgrade first. AFAIK, there were some bugs in those older versions which can cause the installation to fail silently. Moreover, if you use a system-wide Temp-directory, you should really use the tmp directory under your site's root. I've witnessed a lot of installation failures when the system-wide tmp directory was automatically cleared before Joomla! had the chance to copy all of the files.

Hi,

PM coming your way with login details etc...
To confirm Joomla v1.5.17 and TMP is within site root.
