Hello,
I'm pleased to become a "pro" user .... :-)
But ....
For my first backup, i'had an error with an 3.6 millions of line on the log file ! (true)
My hoster banned me thinking i'm an hacher. :-(

Now that's ok with my hoster and I tried to use JPA file format instead of (my favorite) Zip format and (apparently) it's working. (it can help some one to know that)

What's wrong with Zip format ?

Here is my log file : http://dl.free.fr/v5lTZ3MuK (ask pwd by MP please)

Thanks Matt (from France)

I think your message slipped through the cracks. Sorry :( Please PM the password to the log to me (nicholas) and Dale (dlb).

Meanwhile, follow two simple steps:
1. Use the latest developer's release
2. Go to the Configuration page, find the "Archiver Engine" row. Click on the "Configure..." button and uncheck the "Dereference symlinks" option in the pane which opens below the "Configure..." button.

I am pretty darn sure that with 3.6 million lines you have simply entered an infinite loop because of badly configured symbolic links which create an infinite directory structure. Are you using a multisite component by the way?
