Hi Magicans,

I happily used Joomlapack before and now started using Akeebabackup Pro since some days. 2 Days ago the backup of my complete site went well (300+ MB). Now, after migrating lots of Photos into JoomGallery manually, I constantly get "Ajax Loading Errors". I searched through all relevant Forum entries and tried several configurations. But essentially my configuration has not changed since the last successful Backup.
I also have enough webspace left (ca. 1 GB) and the Backups are directed into a designated BACKUP directory (not the root).
Can't figure out what I am doing wrong … and am not very god (yet) at reading log files. Would be glad for a response!
Attached the last two log-files as zip.

Best wishes from India,
Claus

Magician? Would you settle for a few card tricks? :D

The backup is stopping when it tries to back up your second database. Is this actually a second database or did you define your main Joomla! database under Multiple Database Definitions? The main site database is backed up automatically, you don't need any additional setup.

Hi again & tanks for the very fast reply!

"Magician" probably refers to an understanding of programming that some people have, which is beyond my understanding as such:-/ Ehm…

Yes, I indeed had the Joomla database attached too, after I had encountered the Ajax error before. Now I removed it again from the "Multiple Database Definitions" and re-chequed the settings of the remaining database, which belongs to a wordpress blog which resides in a separate folder on the root directory (as Joomla is in a separate folder in root).
It really should be the same settings as before when the backup worked perfectly…

What to do? :|
Attached the new log of the new failure.
Sorry for torturing you with this!

You have created a secondary database definition using the Multiple Database Definitions inclusion filter. However, upon trying to connect to the extra database, it crashes. This usually means that you have entered the wrong connection information for it. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you probably activated this feature accidentally. Normally, you don't need it. Akeeba Backup will automatically include your site's main database.

If this is the case, just click the Multiple Database Definitions page and click the trashcan icon on each and every row. In the end there should be a single row left, which has no trashcan and pencil icon, just a "plus/add" icon. Then you should be able to backup your site without a problem.

Yes, I did create a secondary DB for the Wordpress Blog which lies in an external folder and really has a separate DB apart from Joomla. However for the time being I will try to only backup Joomla. I am now on the way to a long weekend and will have a second look at this on Tuesday. Maybe I really have to change some Parameters in the WordPress DB setttings. If that fails, I would ask you again. At least I now have some ideas and know that it has to do with the Wordpress Database…

Thank you for the help & have a nice weekend too!

Hello Nicholas,
I am getting the AJAX error as well. Where is it that I make the changes? I am using Akeeba for the first time, however I have been using joomlaPack for over a year. On nine other sites I am using joomlapack, There are no errors or issues. I have looked at the configuration screen for Akeeba backup and cannot see the "Multiple Database Definitions" page. Is it an issue with joomla? I am using version 1.5.15. Your assistance will be appreciated

Jeff, I need you to upload your backup log file. Without it I can't possibly know what the problem is. The "AJAX loading error" is very generic. The log file will tell me the full story.

Jeff, please upgrade first to version 3.0.b2, as you may have hit an old bug which has been fixed ever since. Then, make sure that you have enough free disk space for the backup to run. As a rule of thumb, we propose to have 40-50% of your disk quota free for backup to run without a problem. If you still have a trouble running the backup, please post back the new log file. Thanks!
