Hello,

in our akeeba backup, under \installation\sql\ , we have the database splitted into several single files:   site.s01, site.s02 (..), site.sql , and a database.json.   Is it possible, to merge this splitted files again into one single sql-file, which we afterwards could import with Phpmyadmin?    Either per a tool, or by manually combining it per hand (ex. Notepad++) copying together into one file?

And 2nd question: is it possible to say Akeeba, to not split the sql-files at all?

Thank you!

ps - drop 2nd question, I found it.

Hello,

I think it's possible, but you'll have to work from command line. Are you under Windows? In this case you can open a terminal window, move in the installation/sql folder and write this command:

type site.* > merged.sql

That should create a single big file

Hello Davide,

thank you, the windows command merged the files, but in wrong order.  The import gave errors about missing tables.

We have solved our problem in the meantime with another backup, so no prob anymore on our side (but in case you find another way for merging the files, please let me know, just of curiosity) - thank you!

Btw.  I didnt found an option in the akeeba restore script to skip the file extract and proceed to restore only the DB.  Isnt there such an option?  I`m using the free restore script.  Or maybe in the pro script?   That would have been a workaround to the merging.

Thank you very much!

kind regards,
Johannes

Hello,

the best solution is to create another profile of the type "Main Site Database backup". In this way you'll have a nice single file.

There is a way to extract and restore only the SQL files from a "full site" backup type, but honestly that should be used only on emergency situations, since it's error prone and you should avoid using it, unless it's extremely necessary.
