#41591 I need to reauthenticate with the correct Dropbox account but it won't let me

When authenticating to have Akeeba backup to Dropbox, I accidentally gave it the wrong Dropbox account.

It would not let me reauthenticate, so I uninstalled Akeeba, deleted Database references, and reinstalled.

It still won't let me reauthenticate and just gives me the same tokens to backup to what is really a nonexistent Dropbox account, or at least the wrong one.

As a result, I can't get it to back up to the correct Dropbox account.

How do I fix this?

There is no need to uninstall, reinstall, mess with the database, or do anything weird. You just need to remember that Dropbox itself will only allow you to be logged in on a single browser with one, and only one, user account at a time.

Go to dropbox.com on your browser and log out.

Then go to Akeeba Backup and click the button to authenticate.
