EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 10MiB, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

 

Until now we have started backup of our sides by watchful.li.

Now we want to change to cron jobs on the own hosting.

Documentation says to add a cron with this line:
/path/to/php /var/www/vhosts/path_to_site/httpdocs/cli/joomla.php akeeba:backup:take

But how do I say which profile shall be used? Do I have to ad a --profile=3

=> /path/to/php /var/www/vhosts/path_to_site/httpdocs/cli/joomla.php akeeba:backup:take --profile=3

Correct. It's actually documented in https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-joomla/automating-your-backup.html#native-cron-script see under “The backup command accepts three optional parameters”. Below that there are four numbered examples. Example #2 shows you how adding the --profile=2 parameter chooses backup profile #2.

An even easier way to find the command line is to go to Akeeba Backup, select your backup profile (#3), and go to Schedule Automatic Backups. You will now see how it's added the --profile=2 option in the command line it recommends to you :)
