I'm late to the Joomla 4 party but have just upgraded my site and so far all is going really well. When I removed the previous version of Akeeba Backup (following your documentation) it uninstalled fine but reported that the fef and fof extensions were still in use by something so they were not removed. I didn't take a screenshot. Your documentation mentions that other extensions could rely on fef and/or fof even though they're well out of date, etc. Is there any way to determine what might be relying on them or should I just take a site backup, blow them away and see what breaks, if anything? Thanks.

None of our extensions for Joomla! 4 and beyond use either FOF or FEF. It is possible that third party extensions may be using FOF.

Try removing FEF first, as it's dependent on FOF.

Then, try removing FOF. If it claims there are extensions depending on it but you are sure that none of your extensions use it, delete the file libraries/fof40/script.fof.php and retry the uninstallation. It should work now.

As you said, the worst thing that can happen is something breaks and you restore from a backup. After all, that's why we're keeping up-to-date backups :)

Have a good day and a Happy New Year!
