How can i use the new (December 2024) Hetzner Objectstorage (S3 compatible) with AkeebaBackup for Joomla?

I tried to do similar to my Wasabi configuration, but it does not work. When i leave the field "custom region" empty i got an error when trying to upload. When using "nbg1" as region the upload doesnt work as well. Is there a way to use Hetzner S3 Objectstorage with "AkeebaBackup for Joomla"?

Based on the information in their public documentation, you should use the following configuration:

  • Access Key: as provided by Hetzner
  • Secret Key: as provided by Hetzner
  • Use SSL: Yes
  • Enable IPv6 (dual-stack) support: No
  • Bucket: as provided by Hetzner
  • Signature Method: v4
  • Amazon S3 Region: Custom
  • Custom Amazon S3 Region: fsn1
  • Bucket Access: Virtual Hosting
  • Directory: this is up to you
  • Disable multipart uploads: No
  • Storage Class: Standard Storage
  • Custom Endpoint: fsn1.your-objectstorage.com

I have put the non-default settings in bold type.

Please note that the Custom Amazon S3 Region and Custom Endpoint may be different for you. The values above are taken from their documentation for the Falkenstein region. Based on you mentioning the nbg1 region, I make a guess that the custom region is nbg1 and the custom endpoint is nbg1.your-objectstorage.com .
