Hi there, trying to find out, how to exclude files or folders only for a certain backup profile.

I can see the option inside "Include and Exclude Information", but it seems that this is for all profiles.

Or am I missing something?

Is this possible?

Hello,

yes, you can do that, please take a look at this video tutorial: https://www.akeeba.com/videos/1212-akeeba-backup/1621-abtc07-excluding-large-files.html

Exclusions are valid only for the current profile, so you can have different filters.

Thanks for the quick reply. I cannot see on the video how to exlude files/folders for a certain profile.

Maybe I was not clear enough.

1. the Default Backup Profile backup, which will be started manually, should NOT have any exclusions
whereas
2. the newly generated profile "Only Template Folder & Files", which should be backuped daily via cron, should include ONLY the template folder and files

Is this possible, and if YES, how?

Yes.

You simply have to change the backup profile and apply your exclusions. They will be stored only for the active profile.

Ah great! Thanks. That wasn't very clear using a second profile for the first time.
