I have created an automatic backup and I get the error Exit code: 5.
Why is this occurring? And what can I do to solve this?
I have attached the Akeeba logfile.
Greetings
Rob

Hello,
if you run the backup from the web interface does is successfully complete?

Hi Davide,
Yes, from the web interface it works fine and quick. Backups are ready under two minutes.

Rob
PS: sorry, but I didn't see your reply earlier...
Hello,
can you please attach a screenshot of how you're triggering your backups?

Hi Davide,
Thanks in advance for your support.
I have added some screenshots. I hope this is what you need.

Ok, so you're triggering the backup using the Joomla internal cron, am I right?
I suspect your site is too large for Joomla "simple" cron, what's the size of your latest successful backup?

Hi Davide,
That may well be the case. Our backup is now 489.55 MB. See screen4.png

How are you triggering the Joomla CRON? Using your hosting control panel, or using the "lazy schedule" of Joomla?
To achieve the best results, we strongly suggest to use the CLI script instead of relying on Joomla task scheduler

I just made a scheduled task in Joomla. That's all.
I don't have server access, so that's the only thing I could do...
Will this work when the backup is smaller? Because I think there is a lot backed up that we don't use any more.
So if cleaning up our site will help, I can put some effort in that.
Hello,
yes, smaller contents will help for sure.
For the records, when you do not have any control panel access for creating CRON schedulers, you might find useful to use the "Backup from the Frontend" feature.
Long story short, you can use another server to call a specific page to trigger the backups. That server could be an external service like WebCron.org or even a local computer that you leave always on and trigger the backups to one or more websites.

Hi Davide,
Thanks for your answer. I will look in to this.
I can always start a backup manually so it's not like we are missing backups now.
But we bought the Pro version so we could take them automatically ;-)
For now, I know enough and you can close the ticket.
Thanks again!

Hi Davide,
Just to let you know. I have started an account with WebCron.org and backups are now running smoothly.
Thanks again!
