Hello Nicholas,

I'm planning to write a scheduled task plugin to clean up some of the Joomla! specific folders (including the Akeeba Backup Log Folder).

Maybe you already have information about such a plugin?

The Plugin should automatically clean up the following folders.
/tmp - all files - older than X days (default: 7 days)
Akeeba Log Folder - *.log.php - older than Y days (default: 180 days)

Is the Akeeba Log Folder always the same, regardless of the target directories in the Akeeba profile settings?
Joomla 4 Folder: /administrator/components/com_abkeeba_backup/backup/*.log.php
Joomla 3 Folder:
/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup/*.log.php

Question if it depends on the Akeeba profile.
Is there a way to determine the Akeeba profile paths using Joomla core methods?

Question, if it is the Akeeba installation path.
Does Joomla already have a way to determine this path in PHP, assuming Akeeba for Joomla 4 / 5 is installed.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your answer.
Best wishes from Groß-Umstadt, Germany
Valentin

P.S. I was on the Peloponnese for 2 weeks on my motorbike in May. I am always amazed at the beautiful places our earth has to offer. I think only this part of Greece is already as big as Germany.

Hello,

that's a nice idea, but we already have something like that inside Akeeba Backup, it's the quota management. When you tell Akeeba Backup to delete backup archives, the log file is deleted as well. So I think the best thing is to let Akeeba Backup handle it, otherwise you'll end up deleting log files that could be useful (ie failed backups that you want to investigate).
