hello,

I am getting this error over and over again: "Command "akeeba:backup:take" is not defined.". This started after the last version update.

This had happened to me before, but I was able to resolve it by installing the update twice in a row—as suggested on Akeeba's website. Not this time.

These are the Cron jobs I included in Cpanel:

/usr/local/bin/php /home/jeabram1/public_html/cli/joomla.php scheduler:run --all  Editar
/usr/local/bin/php /home/jeabram1/public_html/cli/joomla.php akeeba:backup:take --profile=2  Editar
/usr/local/bin/php /home/jeabram1/public_html/cli/joomla.php akeeba:backup:take  Editar

These are the same that I am using for years now. (I think I can get rid of the first).

Please, advise.

Thank you.

You need to publish the Console - Akeeba Backup plugin.

This plugin is automatically enabled on a new installation of Akeeba Backup. When Joomla! indicates it's an "upgrade" (the same or a different version of Akeeba Backup was already installed) we do not try to re-enable this plugin.

Thanks for the answer, but I don't understand.

Please, can you provide a step by step solutions?

The only Akeeba plugs in that are not enabled are the Akeeba Social plugs in.

I don't know where i have to go to find the plug in you are mentioned. And how to publish it.

Sorry, and than you again

What I tell you to do is very standard Joomla administration. Let's take it step by step.

  • Go to your site's administrator area, logging in as a Super User.
  • From the side menu click on System.
  • Find the box with the title Manage.
  • Inside that box, there is a link title Plugins. Click on it.
  • There is a search field at the top. Type Console - Akeeba Backup into it, and click on the button with the magnifying glass next to it.
  • You will see that it now lists one plugin, with the Plugin Name being Console - Akeeba Backup.
  • If you do not see the plugin at all you have not installed Akeeba Backup Professional. This plugin is only available with Akeeba Backup Professional (paid), NOT Akeeba Backup Core (free of charge). Double check which file you have downloaded. The Pro version has -pro in its name. The Core version has -core in its name. You will need to install the Pro version twice in a row and start over with these instructions.
  • Make sure that the icon in the Status column of that plugin is a green checkmark inside a green circle AND that the value in the Access column is Public.
  • If this was not the case:
    • Click on the Console - Akeeba Backup link.
    • Click on the Status dropdown, then click on Enabled
    • Click on the Access column, then click on Public
    • Click the Save & Close button in the toolbar.

Thanks. By mistake I haven't uploaded the pro version. I'll check it for a week and I'll let you know if the problem is fixed.

Best regards.
