So I just completed a site from a DEV site - then made it to the LIVE SITE (like I do all the time)

- I then did my first backup on my live site and got this msg after it completed

- This looks like my file structure for my DEV site location

Failed to remove old backup file /home/trucaremobillh/akeebabackup/site-trucaremobility.lighthousewebcreations.com-20240715-091303cdt-rRNc8NOwafiEwfJp.jpa

Idea's?

The back up is finishing but give me that error msg after everytime I backup

You can just delete that file manually, over FTP or SFTP.

This has to do with the Operating System. At the end of the extraction we close the file, meaning there should be no open file handles against it. Some OS like Windows and CloudLinux unfortunately don't release the file lock right away. It takes a few hundred milliseconds to a few seconds. Since we ask PHP to delete the file in less time than that, and PHP asks the OS to do that, the OS falsely replies the file is still open and cannot delete it. Hence the message.

There's really not much we can do about it, except tell you to delete it manually.
