mhm... so we can consider this issue closed, since the site was somehow restored?
Y'all can close my ticket as you wish. I submitted the ticket because:
- I use Kickstart/Akeeba Backup to restore my sites when needed.
- Kickstart & Akeeba Backup have worked flawlessly for me since my first use of Joomla (v1.5, I think).
- The error I reported seemed, to me, to affect both my interests (reinstallation) and those of Akeeba because:
- No resolution native to Kickstart/Akeeba Backup seemed possible.
- The script indicated that Kickstart attempted to find and open an HTML file that did not exist.
- Kickstart was unable to open a JASON file whose permissions were set at 644.
- Further, it seemed apparent to me that the Installation folder in public_html was only created when Kickstart/Akeeba Backup was invoked.
Restoration of my website was the product of assistance rendered by the Rochen Technical Support team. The problem is that the comprehensive site backups generated by the Rochen shared server are periodic and that periodicity may result in data loss due to lag time. In this particular case, things worked out.
Please forgive me for my wordiness; I'm an old U.S. Navy cryptologic intelligence analyst trained to fully describe, as best I'm able, scenarios.
I notice that Akeeba has updated Kickstart to version 8.0.5. I used version 8.0.4 yesterday, when the issue occurred.
Cheers!
