ISSUE:

Hi there, 

Have used Akeeba backup for years without issue. 

Recently upgraded a site from Joomla 3 to 4 > using yootheme template, other than that it is a simple setup.

Have succeeded in migration from 3-4 with a similar set up on another site. 

On this site however the kickstart extract process fails with error 'unable to open config file for writing'. 

I followed your guidelines on help page. Eventually asked my host/ Rochen to help see if issue was there end. They were very helpful as usual. 

They tried to do the process for me on their end - extract .jpa file using kickstart but replied to me with this:

It seems that the config file that was created in the backup is causing this issue

In the end, they cloned the migrated site from test domain and restored it for me on main domain by passing use of Akeeba backup. 

For future use, I'd like to resolve this issue. Hence why I am asking if you would assist me.

Hello,

I just extracted it just fine. I think there was a permissions issue on your webspace, so Kickstart was not able to write the files as it was extracting them.
