EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 10MiB, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

I tried to install but the file is larger than 2 megs so I FTP'd it to my temp directory and I received this error screen, see attachment. How can I clean this up?

I tried to attach a .jpg but it got rejected.

Here's the errors I received:

Can't find XMLset up.

Path does not have valid package.

Unable to detect manifest file.

Hello,

I have made this ticket private so that only you and me can see the information posted here.

Please provide me with the following information:

Please make sure that you have tested the Super Administrator connection using a different browser or machine than the one you are using daily. Double check that logging in is possible and that the user has Super User privileges, i.e. it's not a regular Administrator. Make sure that your site does not block whole countries or IP ranges which would make it impossible for me to log in / connect by FTP. Finally, please do make sure that the FTP connection works and that logging in to it I have access to your site's files.

Kindly note that your site connection information and your site content is handled in strict confidence. Not only we are a reputable development company, we are also bound by law (EU GDPR) to do so. After you file your reply, the connection information to your site will be stored in an encrypted, hidden storage area on our site and will be automatically deleted when this ticket is closed. Finally keep in mind that the people providing support to you are the same developers who wrote the software you're using on your site.

Hello,

I was able to upgrade your Akeeba Backup installation to the Pro version, by using the Install from URL feature. This is a nice trick to use when you have a server that has some upload limits.

Inside every Item download page, you'll see that there is a link called "Direct Install Link": https://www.akeeba.com/download/akeeba-backup/8-2-7.html

Copy that link, paste it inside the Install from URL field in your website and it will automatically download the package and install it on your site.

Can you please double check if everything is ok?

Hello Davide,

Thank you for cleaning up kz1300.com. Unfortunately when I try to install Akeeba Pro on my other site https://www.kzrider.com by using your direct install link I get an error message to the effect "Unable to detect manifest file.

Have you another idea?

Hello Davide,

I just realized that you probably never received my response about giving you the information needed to access my site. I was just informed that you do not receive e-mail responses.

As I said above I was notified that a manifest file was missing.

I Uploaded the file to the home/kzride5/public_html/tmp and upon installing from folder I received several error messages about manifold files and missing XML setup files.

Thank you for getting me going on the 1300 site. My problem is now trying to do the same for my other site www.kzrider.com. I get the same complaints about manifest files and XML set up files.

The credentials for the two sites are the same.

I have purchased your professional backup package. I've attached a jpeg of the error messages I received when I selected "install from folder"

Please do not use the Install from Folder feature. Use the Install from URL feature as explained above.

Anyway, I just installed the Pro version on the other site as well.

Thanks for your help Davide! However I did try the install from URL the first time I tried and I got the missing manifest file error.

Is there something I could do to my sites so that issue doesn't reoccur next year?

Now that you have installed the Pro version you can simply use Joomla updater to keep them updated. No need to manually upload anything.
