Hello,

I moved my development website to a new VPS and had no issues. In reading the following document, I decided to specify a different location for the backup files, and no issue there either.

https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/warnings/q203.html

Before specifying a new backup location and using the Akeeba interface, I deleted all the backup files, then all the backup logs, except the most recent backup - which is an 18GB full backup, spread across 10 files.

Having completed a new backup, I can see that the *.jpa file is stored in the new location. Sweet.

Looking back into the default backup location, I can see that there are still backup files there. The one full backup, which I expected and three "left-over" partial backup files.

Two questions:

#1: Should/Could I simply move the full back file (actually 10 files) to the new backup file location and then do an Import Archives and run the scan on the new location?

#2: Can I simply delete the "left over" three partial backup files?

Thank you for your feedback.

David

1. Yes, that's a good idea!

2. Yes, of course.
