What is the previous version of Akeeba Backup you have on your site?

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for your answer. I have already updated to Joomla 4 but I have a backup i made via FTP,

how can I find out the previous version? which folders/file can I look in the backup?

You can see that in System, Extensions, Manage. Search for Akeeba Backup in the search box and set the Type drop-down to Package. You will get two entries; one for the old version of Akeeba Backup and one for the new one.

If the oldest version is 8.0 or later the message you received is a problem I have already discovered and addressed. I will release a new version of Akeeba Backup 9 tomorrow.

If the oldest version is older let me know; we'll have to work on it a bit differently.

Okay, you have hit the bug in version 9.4 I have discovered and fixed. Please wait for another day; the new Akeeba Backup version will be released and the migration will work correctly.

Awesome, so I guess that we will get the news via the Joomla extensions update.

Thanks much Nicholas and have a great evening!

Thank you, I have uploaded the new version but it still says that the migration requirements are not met:

We have not detected a compatible version of Akeeba Backup. If you try to run the migration now you may experience errors and / or data loss. Do not proceed unless you have been explicitly instructed to do so by our developers. Ignore this stern warning at your own risk and peril!

Are you sure you have 9.4.3? Because I have tried that myself without a problem.

Please try installing the new version twice in a row, without uninstalling it before or in between.

If this doesn't help just click the migrate button anyway.

Hi Nicholas,

I have re-installed a second time: Akeeba Backup CORE for Joomla!™ 9.4.3

I have tryed to migrate, I get the following message:

"The settings migration failed to complete. You may have to manually import your backup profiles and / or transfer and import backup archives."

Something was wrong with the old version of Akeeba Backup, probably corrupt tables? You will have to manually set up Akeeba Backup 9.
