We recently noticed that several full backups of our site had failed.  At that time, we were using a previous version of Akeeba Backup Pro.

We installed the latest version, and ran a full backup manually via the One-click Backup button; this completed successfully, generating a .jpa file and 15 .jnn files.

The next day, a scheduled full backup failed, while generating file .j14.  At that time, the log file was not recording debug information.  We turned on debug logging, and the scheduled full backup again failed the next day, while generating file .j12.  The log file from this backup is attached.

After this fail, we ran a full backup manually, which completed successfully.

Scheduled incremental backups are all completing successfully.

EDIT: Original zipped log file failed to upload.  Here's a link to a re-zipped version: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oPPh1oOpLeExgmvGYaQp_ErUHZV4Kba4/view?usp=sharing

I've sent you a request to access the log file since the share link is (very prudently) limited access.

That said, You are saying that every day you are getting 1–2 parts less before the backup stops. This sounds like running out of disk space.

Thank you for the access. I see that you get this error:

DEBUG |20220815 18:50:39|include_once(<root>administrator/components/com_akeeba/BackupEngine/Base/Exceptions/ErrorException.php): failed to open stream: Too many open files

This is an Operating System–level issue. Please tell your host and ask them is they can update the user limits with a larger number of allowed file descriptors.

If not, you may want to try and run the backup at some point in time when your server is less busy.

Thanks.  We'll contact our hosting company and see what they can do for us.
