Description of my issue: Trying to back up my site and it fails during file backups with

AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 500 (Internal Server Error)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 4

It looks like you are either running out of disk space or your server just takes too long to respond when adding some massive (and seemingly unnecessary) files to the backup archive. I am pretty sure that you need neither the old nor the New directory folders on your site, let alone your backup. Combined they take up about a Gigabyte.

Maybe take half an hour to figure out if you have junk on your site that you can clear out before taking a backup or at the very least exclude them from the backup?
