For the "Backup archive name" in the configuration, Site-[HOST]-[DATE]-[TIME_TZ]-[RANDOM] is entered by default.
Since years I change this after installation to:
[PLATFORM_VERSION]-[HOST]-[DATE]-[TIME_TZ]-[RANDOM]
Site doesn't say anything, but the Joomla version from the last backup does. I would be happy if this would be new by default :-)

The current default backup archive name is selected based on the most common use cases. It's definitely not covering all of the less common use cases — including yours and mine — which is why we made it configurable.
