Description of my issue:

Hi

I use CRON to activate front-end backups. I have three new Joomla 4 sites and enabled front-end backups. However, when testing the front-end backup, it reverts with a 404 error.

What am I missing? The command I use is:

Akeeba Backup 9 for WordPress is a different component with a different name. We had to do that for various reasons that had to do with how Joomla performs updates and the very long history of Akeeba Backup going back to Joomla 1.0 when it was still called JoomlaPack. Trying to keep the same component name would make some upgrade scenarios fail catastrophically on some sites which had a direct upgrade history dating back to the Joomla 1.6/1.7/2.5 days. Also, com_akeeba was a misnomer; the company name is Akeeba, the backup software is called Akeeba Backup. Therefore we chose to change the component name.

Please go to Akeeba Backup's Schedule Automatic Backup page. As you can see, the URL has changed for Akeeba Backup 9. Since the component name changed from com_akeeba to com_akeebabackup it needs to be reflected in your backup URL (option=com_akeebabackup instead of option=com_akeeba).

Moreover, you should also check that Akeeba Backup 9 has the front-end backup enabled and that your secret word in the URL matches the one set up in Akeeba Backup 9's options. While we do try to import these settings from Akeeba Backup 8 when you perform a migration there are a few rare cases where this won't be possible. Best check to be absolutely certain.
