EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Hi,
i am using your backup systen Pro many years already-It is great!

I run more than 12 websites and I am using FTP to to procced the backup archive to an external server.
All my backups work fine, only one single website do not delete the archive on the webserver of the website, the transfer to the external ftp server works, but the archive still remains on the webserver of the website.Β
I added 'Delete archive after processing' but it does not work?!

Β

Any idea how to check and solve this issue?!

Thanks

Can you please ZIP and attach the backup log file from this site? I suspect that the upload isn't actually complete but I may be wrong. The log file will help me understand this better.

hi, thanks for the super fast reply!

Β

It is strange, the logfile( I attached) got no Information!?

I also see that the archive of the website is smaller than the archive of the ftp server ( Screenshot attached)

I am using backupMonkey, it works well with all my other Websites.

Thanks
Klaus

Go to Akeeba Backup.

Select your backup profile from the dropdown.

Click on Configuration.

Find the Log Level setting.

Set it it β€œAll Information and Debug”.

Click on Save & Close.

Take a new backup.

The new backup's log file will not be empty and contain the information I need to help you.

I was right. The problem is that the upload to your FTP server never happened. Akeeba Backup reported an error trying to upload the remote server. Since the backup has not been uploaded to the remote server Akeeba Backup will not delete it from your server as a reasonable precaution (you'd end up without a backup and you'd never know until it's too late!).

Please check your FTP connection information. If you are absolutely certain and have double checked they are correct you may want to contact your host and ask them if they have a firewall which blocks the upload to your FTP server.

Thanks a lot Nicholas,

I am still struggling.

The webserver for three websites are the same shared server, at the same ISP.
The ftp settings of my remote server for all this three is the same.
Two of this websites work as expected, the only difference is that the one which does not work is a huge archive (4.8GB)

On the webserver it is 4.8 GB and at the remote ftp server is only 2.7 GB

As you recommended, I will ask the website ISP. and I will update you if I could solve it.

Thanks Klaus

Transferring a huge archive all at once is a bad idea. Try setting a Part Size for Split Archives around 1GB (much lower than the limit of what can be transferred before your FTP server apparently aborts the transfer).
