Hi guys,
I have a query about what the permissions of backup files should be. I use Watchful.net to monitor my sites, and I notice in the vunerability report for a site that the Akeeba backup files are listed as having the wrong permissions. They have 666 instead of the recommended 644.
I can go into Akeeba Admin Tools and run "fix permissions", and then rerun the vunerability report in Watchful, and the files are not listed (meaning they now have the correct permissions).
However any new backups created from that point onwards still have the 666 permissions. Since my site only keeps two backups locally, the ones with correct permissions are deleted (oldest first), and new backups kept.
I tried a remote backup (initiated from Watchful) and a backup intitiated from joomla login on the site, it made no difference, file permissions were 666 in both cases.
I did submit a technical support request with Watchful last week but I haven't heard back.
Is this a bug with Akeeba assigning the wrong permissions? Or is it a bug with Watchful and the files shouldn't be flagged?
Thanks for your help.
Nicola
