Dear Akeeba Team

I have a recurring issue with Akeeba Backup Pro. I have installed the Pro version after purchasing it some time ago over an existing not pro installation. I have also followed the instruction to the pro version twice in a row. However, from time to time the installation of the pro version is gone and replaced by the normal version. This probably happens during updates, but I am not sure.
When I then reinstall the pro-version (twice) everything works again fine...

Any idea what I could do to avoid the downgrading that happens from time to time or any idea what I am doing wrong to provoke it?

Thanks for a perfectly working piece of code otherwise!

Hello,

that's pretty strange, since Pro file removal happens only when you install the Core version on top of the Pro version.

How do you perform the update? Using Joomla built-in updater?

I suspect you could have a different update URL that is pointing to the core version. If you get inside Extensions > Update sites and search for "akeeba", what's the URL for the Akeeba Backup component?

Yes, I use the built-in updater of joomla

The attached URLs show when I look into the update sites. Should I deactivate the "Akeeba Backup Core" entry?

That explains the issue. Please delete the Akeeba Backup Core entry, it's no longer needed once you upgrade to Pro.
