Description of my issue:

Hello

when I try to update to akeeba backup pro from 7.5.3 to 8.0.2 I get the error message:

 0 Argument 1 passed to FOF40\Platform\Joomla\Platform::__construct() must be an instance of FOF40\Container\Container, instance of Akeeba\Backup\Admin\Container given, called in /var/www/vhosts/playground.adinvest-international.eu/httpdocs/libraries/fof30/Container/Container.php on line 217

For info, I also tried previously to update tot 8.0.1 and it didn't succeed (and got a similar error message at that time).

 

And also

When I tried to update Admin tool pro from 6.0.1 to 6.0.2 I get a similar error message:

I had no issue upgrading to 6.0.1 previously.

I also had no issues upgrading to Akeeba Ticket 4.0.0

Try the update again after it fails the first time. It will work.

Thank you Nicholas for your quick response.

I tried several times to update  both of them, but it didn't work (same error messages).

 

So I used the full akeeba backup pro again instead of the update. Then The version 6.0.2 installed correctly, and I was then able to simply use the update of the Admin tool as well.

problem is solved on my side.

I think I know what happens. If you run into this again, please disable the following plugins (you may not have all of them on your site):

  • Installer - Akeeba Backup
  • Installer - Admin Tools
  • Installer - Akeeba Ticket System

Then install the new versions of our extensions.
