I noticed that before updating Joomla the BOU Active tag wasn's showing at the foot of the admin dashboard. The Backup on Update plugin v 8.0.1 is installed and enabled, as was the previous version.
Any ideas?

Hello,
It's the intended behavior: it's no longer an icon that loads in every page, but it's a link inside the Joomla update page.

It didn't work today. If I hadn't noticed the BOU Active wasn't there Joomla would have updated without a backup being taken.
mhm... ok, I'll take a look into it. Today is a busy day since some hosts are having troubles with the new version of Akeeba, but I'll try to run some tests on it.

Thanks.
When I updated Akeeba to 8.0.1 before Joomla update it threw a number of errors. After updating Joomal I ran the Akeeba uodate agan and it installed correctly. So afraid I didn't keep a record of the errors.
Ok, thank you for the report
