Trying to configure Akeeba Backup to use the Post-processing engine set to Dropbox fails.

Authentication - Step1 opens a pop up window with an error at the bottom

Dropbox Authentication Error invalid_grant

Dropbox reported that you did not log in correctly or did not grant Akeeba Backup the permission to access your account.

If I click on "Complete Dropbox authentication" in the pop up window I get kicked out of Joomla.

Can you please try clearing your browser's cache? This sounds like an issue we had fixed months ago on the JavaScript side of this integration. If your browser is still caching an older version of our JavaScript it's possible to still see that problem.

I tried clearing browser history, closing the browser and reopening before trying again. I even tried using a different browser. I still get the same result.

If you copy the access and refresh token to your Akeeba Backup configuration does it work?

The button to automatically copy the authentication information (access and refresh token) back to Akeeba Backup no longer works in newer browsers because of the changed default CORS settings. I have now removed the button from the page on our site, asking you to copy the information instead.

Yes - Copying the keys into Akeeba Back up works.

Thanks for sorting this out :)

You're welcome and thank you for the heads up! I last looked into that code before the last update round of browsers in early to mid February. I wasn't aware that they did change the default CORS settings and I wasn't sure about this change's impact (it's one thing reading a slightly ambiguous description on MDN and another thing seeing window.opener being null in the browser's debugging Console).

Have a great day!
