Description of my issue:
Unfortunately, I installed the update to Akeeba Backup Professional v.7.2.1. However, my server is only running PHP 5.6.31. And now Akeeba Backup will not open. So I need to rollback to v7.1.4, which I've just downloaded from the downloads section.
My question is whether I can simply install the package over 7.2.1 or do I need to uninstall Akeeba Backup first, and then do a fresh install of the older package. If I can install the older version over the newer version, it will be straightforward. If I need to uninstall first, I will download my backup files first since they would be deleted in the uninstallation process.
Are there any other things I need to be aware of? Thanks in advance for your reply.
And, yes, we will be upgrading our PHP soon. But I need to make fresh backups now before our server can be upgraded to PHP 7.x.
Sincerely,
Jeff
