Description of my issue:

Hello Support, My server recently needed to do some heavy IP blocking to protect it, and i think we may have blocked Akeeba's BACKUP SERVER IP address, because now all joomla sites on the server can NOT upgrade akeeba since the IP blocks were added.

Can you please list all the akeeba back up server IP addresses?

this way i can whitelist them in the server firewall....

There are two servers involved when Joomla installs an extension update.

Joomla first retrieves the update information XML file from cdn.akeebabackup.com. This is a content delivery network hosted with Amazon CloudFront. It has a multitude of nodes. I cannot give you an exact IP address. You'd need to run dig (preferably) or host from your server to find out the IP of the edge node you are connecting to. Also note that this might change over time – it's up to Amazon Web Services to decide that.

Once it has the update information, Joomla will download the actual installation ZIP file from www.akeebabackup.com. Our current IPv4 address is 35.214.197.134 (since March 2020). We only expect this to change with an average period of 5 years. That's typically how long it takes for our host to rotate physical servers and/or data centres.

Perfect, I white listed the 35.214.197.134 IP address and now backup are working again, thank you very much!!
