The latest versions of Joomla and Akeeba Backup at the time of this writing are 3.9.19 and 7.2.1 respectively. You claim to be using Joomla 3.10 and Akeeba Backup 7.5.3. I have no idea in which context to answer your question. Are you trying to use a pre-release Joomla 3.10 version? If you do, you've installed Akeeba Backup 7.2.1 on it and it doesn't think it's Joomla 4 ready please file a bug report with Joomla.
Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools have been compatible with Joomla 4 since alpha 2, released nearly a year ago. All of our software is actually compatible with Joomla 4.0 beta 1 and later since ten days after beta 1's release (it took that long because of all the breaking changes merged into Joomla literally in the last 48 hours before releasing the beta). Moreover, we have already marked our releases as fully compatible with Joomla 4.0 in our update XML files as you can see for yourself:
<targetplatform name="joomla" version="((3\.9)|(4\.0))"/>
On top of that, yours truly has been contributing new code and bug fixes to Joomla 4. And I'm the one who's been constantly saying that 3PDs like yours truly need to get buy-in to Joomla 4 (release software for it) if we want to see a successful major version. I always practice what I preach.
Finally, if you ever wonder about the compatibility of our software with any Joomla or PHP version please check our compatibility page. The information there is generated automatically based on the same source of compatibility information that goes into our update streams.
