Hi AkeebaBackup-Team,

this is a very non urgent Feature-Request. :-)

Today I found out about the Open Telekom Cloud in Germany. https://open-telekom-cloud.com/en

If you check their Products it looks like an Amazon Clone. The Objekt Storage Service (OBS) seems to be similar to Amazon S3.

https://open-telekom-cloud.com/en/products-services/object-storage-service

I would love to see Akeeba Backup support this Cloudstorage.

Maybe this can be considered.

In my rush I found 2 maybe interessting links with an API referal:

https://open-telekom-cloud.com/en/support/tutorials/automating-opentelekomcloud-apis

https://open-telekom-cloud.com/en/support/tutorials/how-to-use-the-api-to-control-your-cloud

Maybe these links are helpful.

Kind reagards to all of you and stay healthy

Hello,

thank you very much for the links, I'll pass them to Nicholas so he can take a look at it.

However, there's a small chance to avoid creating a new integration from scratch. Is there any support for the WebDAV protocol? If so, you can use the WebDAV post processing engine, without the need to wait for any new feature.

Hi Davide,

thanks for your quick reply. I found another link, wich is maybe relevant:

https://docs.otc.t-systems.com/obs/index.html

This Webdav-Thing is a maybe a way to use it.

Kind regards

Niko

Hi Niko!

The doc page you linked says that it supports both an Amazon S3 compatible API and the OpenStack Swift. In fact, reading their docs it looks like they are just implementing a full featured OpenStack server which is good news! I tested our Swift integration with the reference OpenStack Docker image :)

Based on this page the Swift endpoint should be swift.eu-de.otc.t-systems.com and the Amazon S3 compatible endpoint is obs.eu-de.otc.t-systems.com

I don't see WebDAV support but these two alternatives should work just fine.

Hi Nicholas,

as far as I understood, it looks like, it can or could be implemented easily for you. So, this sounds like good news for me. It's not, that I want to start tomorrow with this, but nice, to have it supported in the future. :)

Kind regards

Niko

I mean, it's already supported according to their documentation :)

You can use the Upload to Amazon S3 feature with the v2 signature and the custom endpoint published by Open Telekom (obs.eu-de.otc.t-systems.com).

Alternatively, you can use the Upload to OpenStack Swift with the endpoint swift.eu-de.otc.t-systems.com they've published.

As for the login credentials, bucket name etc in each case, I would assume that they're visible to you in their control panel.
