EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
For some reason the Akeeba automated backup didn't run last night. There is no entry for it in the Akeeba backup list so I can'r send you the log!
When I run the backup by hand from the Akeeba control panel it works just fine.
Has anything changed in this latest version of Akeeba that might affect the automated backup?

The CRON task line I am running is shown below (with the backup key changed to x's):
curl -L --max-redirs 1000 -v "https://www.fairlight.org.uk/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=Backup&key=xxxxxxxxxxxxxx" 1>/dev/null 2>/dev/null

Thanks,
Bill

If there is no log entry it means that your CRON job never triggered the backup. Either the CRON job failed to run at all or the key is invalid. Try removing the 1>/dev/null 2>/dev/null part from your CRON job so your CRON server -- that's part of your server and managed by your host -- can send you an email of what it is doing.

Thanks Nicholas - I have removed that bit from the CRON task and I'll investigate the output. I've set it to run every hour for the moment so that I don't have to wait until tomorrow!

Nicholas,
... so the backup task ran at 12:00 GMT just now and, of course, this time it worked perfectly!

I'll reset the parameters and set it back to running just once per day at midnight and look to see the result in the morning.
Thanks for your help and sorry to have bothered you.
regards,
Bill

No problem! I understand the frustration of automated tasks not working.
