I need to move some Joomla websites from one ISP to another.
The current ISP uses cPanel, but the new ISP uses Plecsk.
Will I be able to use akeeba for the transfers, and if so are there any special considerations or guidelines?

Akeeba Backup really doesn't care about the host software, it should not make any difference.

As in any restore to a new host, you need to manually create your database and user and assign the user all privileges to the database. That process would be slightly different from cPanel to Plesk.

I use the Joomla database and three others on one of my important websites. Will the Akeeba restore address this issue?

dlb
If you are actually using different databases, you need to set up the extra databases in Multiple Databases Definition.

If you're using multiple table sets within one database, no additional setup is necessary. Akeeba Backup will back up all the tables in the main database regardless if they are Joomla! tables.
